W. A. Mozart, Mass in D Minor

W. A. Mozart, Mass in D Minor

The planet that has lost its soul and mind

Writes about its end, which is to be

On December 21, 2012.

But that, unfortunately, will not happen.

Yet still, this world must end sometime

When all people will disappear in fire or ice,

All living things, animals and plants

And there won’t be any Noah’s Ark.

All books will turn to dust,

And all science, all history,

Philosophy, religion.

When our Earth becomes

A burning ball or giant lump of ice

When the Creator finishes his cruel game with us

Because he’s gotten tired of watching

Us fall apart in the mud.

He won’t be able to destroy what you stole from him:

Your music will echo through the universe

Like the noise of motion of the still-burning stars

Of galaxies.
