Spirit of Bosnia has been publishing quarterly online since 2006. Each issue disseminates scholarly research and writing on the history, politics, and literature of Bosnia-Herzegovina in order to honor and preserve the long-standing traditions of social and civil order that created Bosnia’s heritage. The journal publishes works of fiction and non-fiction reflective of this mission.

According to Google Analytics, the journal receives one hundred hits a day, two hundred a day on the week of publication, say, 40% from Bosnia-Herzegovina, 15% from Serbia, 15% from countries in Europe, 10% from the United States, and then the rest from countries throughout the world.

Omer Hadžiselimović and I developed the journal. Since his passing, I continued editing the journal.  I am the author of Sociologija nakon Bosne with Buybook and Bosnian Authors in a European Window: A Comparative Study with Routledge. The journal has benefited from the invaluable support of E. Wayles Browne, Adin Ljuca, Esma Hadželimović, Ana Stanović Obradović and Mirjana Savić-Obradović

While there are many good things to say about the journal, there is an imbalance when looking at the archive online (which I recommend to readers). There are not as many women authors as there should be. Adela Jušić and I want to rectify this imbalance in this issue and the journal’s forthcoming issues.
